Nils Gustaf created a network of lighthouses around the Swedish coast around 1849. These were made of iron tubes and were nicknamed 'Heidenstammare'. Married in 1857, Nils Gustaf was the father of Nobel Prize winner, Verner von Heidenstam, with whom he feuded. He committed suicide in 1887.
